Half Term Family Fun at Carriageworks Theatre

This October half term, Carriageworks Theatre is thrilled to present a host of great productions for young people this half term, with a wonderful array of inspiring work for children and their families.
 
Launching half term is the most unusual duckling the pond has ever seen, tutti frutti and York Theatre Royal bring to life Hans Christian Andersen’s well known tale Ugly Duckling. The new adaptation will be at Carriageworks Theatre on Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 October. Ugly Duckling is a must-see new production with exquisite music, enthralling movement and a sprinkle of tutti frutti magic for children aged 3+ and their families to enjoy.
 
The week continues with The Magic Fish on Wednesday 25 October – a classic Indian tale told through dance, in this interactive performance, boys and girls are invited to join King Manu’s adventure in a new production to enchant all children. Leeds favourite, The Clean as possible Comedy Show is back again on Wednesday 25 October with family-friendly stand up. Three top comedians from the UK Comedy Circuit perform a swear free act suitable for audiences 12 and up.
 
On a journey to find mythical beasts and to save the world, Horace and the Yeti will be taking us on an adventure on Thursday 26 October. Horace and the Yeti is an eco-adventure for children aged 4 and up, featuring an original music score and ripping yarns galore.
 
The award winning Story Pocket Theatre presents Michael Morpurgo’s epic tale of magic and heroism as King Arthur takes to the stage on Friday 27 October. Spectacular sword fights, a classic battle between good and evil, a moving, yet tragic, love story and enthralling storytelling come together to create a memorable family show.
 
Carriageworks Theatre children shows each include a free pre-show activity hour in the Millennium Room. Including themed craft projects around the show plus access to our book swap and soft play area.
