Experience the power of thundering rhythms on huge taiko drums, mysterious masked choreography, synchronisation timed to perfection, post-apocalyptic martial imagery & infectious humour – all in a spellbinding display of sheer energy.

A brand new collaboration will rock venues up & down the UK, as Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers are joined by master drummer from Japan Hiroshi Motofuji, for their November 2017 tour.

Mugenkyo are the UK’s most successful touring taiko group, renowned for their
high-octane energy, contemporary look & sound, and gritty passionate style.
Hiroshi Motofuji is one of the top taiko artists in Japan, formerly a frontman of the world-renowned Oedo Sukeroku group, highly regarded for both his precise technique and as a pioneer of a new hard-hitting direction in taiko currently sweeping across Japan.

A powerful collaboration, not to be missed!

MUGENKYO is the leading taiko group in the UK, founded in 1994, performing thousands of shows at theatres and concert halls, and also at festivals such as Glastonbury, London Jazz Festival, sporting events such as the FA cup final, Formula One & Rugby World Cup, and television appearances such as the Brit Awards, the Generation Game, and even a Bollywood film. Collaborations include: with violin, piano & voice for the BBC World Showcase, with fiddle, tabla & Indian dance for the Edinburgh Mela Festival, with Scottish bagpipes for the BBC Last Night of the Proms, with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra for a series of concerts around the UK, as well as working alongside many prominent taiko artists. www.taiko.co.uk

HIROSHI MOTOFUJI is widely regarded as one of the top solo taiko artists in Japan. He honed a high level of technique as a lead player and instructor with Japan’s first professional taiko group: Oedo Sukeroku, attaining the status of “master” at the age of 27. Since leaving Oedo Sukeroku, he has founded several taiko units, including “DaKT”, specialising in high-speed multi-layered rhythms. He has also been developing his unique rock-taiko fusion style, first with “634 Musashi” and now with bands “Hot Rod Kixxs” and “Yaiba”, performing with rock bands Kiss and Mr. Big. He has also been highly active with recording projects for tv, games, anime and film, including “Mononoke” and the hugely popular “Naruto” films. www.sound.jp/hiroshi_web/index_english.html
