Muhammad Ali Commemoration

After the passing of Ali on 3rd June 2016 community activist elder Dr Arthur France MBE invited more that twenty-five Leeds community social justice activists and City Councillors to discuss how they could mark Ali’s influences on them and commemorate his positive Africancentric personal and political ideas and actions. The planning group continues to meet every two weeks and have extended their contacts to more than forty key activists.

The other elements of the year-long programme includes a Peace Garden with a bust of Ali – Graffiti Ali Portrait and a Ali cartoon booklet.
