Another England Event: Saturday 27 January, Brodrick Hall, Leeds City Museum from 11am – 4pm.

Another England explores the ways in which Black and Asian heritage has been integral to England’s identity. We want to document the spaces and places that have played a vital role in the lives of Black and Asian people across the country. This special event is a celebration of Yorkshire’s rich Black and Asian heritage and will be packed with storytelling, performance and workshops as part of the national project, Another England: Mapping 100 Years of Our Black and Asian Heritage.

You are invited to bring the photos, stories and memories of spaces that have had an impact on your life: from places of worship to workplaces, and playgrounds to public squares, come help map the spaces that you feel are important to Yorkshire’s Black and Asian history. The event is free, family friendly, drop-in anytime and there will be a creche for young children.

Another England is a national project commissioned by Historic England and being delivered by an expert team of consultants led by Pidgin Perfect. For more information on the project please visit: www.anothernengland.co.uk
