Leeds West Indian Carnival

This seems to be a first time visit for many people. I am getting lots of requests for information on events, times and locations.

There also seems to be a lot of confusion between the 2 different events on Sunday and Monday that take place.

“Leeds Black Music festival”, is a free live music festival in Potternewton Park. It take place from around 2pm in the Potternewton park on Sunday 28th August. There is also fun fair, market stalls, food and drinks.

“Leeds West Indian Carnival”, is the street parade and is on Bank Holiday Monday 29th August.

The carnival parade starts in Harehills Avenue along side Potternewton Park at 2pm. turns right onto Harehills Lane and right again down Roundhay Road, right onto Barrack Road, right again onto Chapeltown Road before turning right onto Harehills Avenue and back into Potternewton Park.
Please note: There is a lot of road restrictions and road blocks in place in the area.
